LORTON, Va. (WUSA) -- Six people are without a home and $300,000 worth of damage is left behind following a house fire in Lorton on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Fairfax County Fire officials, a fire broke out at a single-family home in the 8400 block of Sullenberger Court at approximately 3:10 p.m. The first firefighters on the scene found heavy smoke and fire pouring form the roof and back of the home. They called for more firefighters.
Sixty firefighters put out the fire in about 40 minutes.
None of the residents were home during the fire and no one was hurt.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.
