SCOTLAND, Md. (WUSA) -- St. Mary's County authorities are investigating an apparent hate crime from September.
According to sheriff's office authorities, someone spray painted swastikas and racial slurs on a monument at the Confederate Memorial Park in Scotland, Md. Authorities also found a rope around the neck of a statue of a soldier.
They say the crime happened between September 13 and September 14.
