ANNAPOLIS (WUSA) -- Early Saturday morning, a taxi cab driver was robbed at knifepoint outside the Hillsmere Library by two teens, who are still on the loose.
According to Anne Arundel County Police, a cab driver reported that he picked up three males in downtown Annapolis before 3:40 a.m. They asked to be taken to Annapolis Neck Road in the area of Hillsmere and one male asked to get out at the intersection of Hillsmere Drive and Quiet Waters Park. The driver reported that the male paid his fare and left.
But then there was a turn of events. The other two males asked to go to the Hillsmere Library, but once they reached the location one took out a knife and demanded money from the driver. The driver then got into a struggle with both males before they were able to take his money and flee. The reportedly fled towards Annapolis Neck Road. The driver ran to a nearby gas station to call police for help.
Officers and K-9 searched for the robbers but did not locate them.
The suspects are described as two Hispanic males in their teens, who are approximately 5'5" tall and were wearing dark clothing.
