MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) -- Manassas City police say they have identified the human remains found by landscape workers in woods near Dumfries Road and Manassas Mill Road on September 14.
According to police, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner have positively identified the human remains as 51-year-old William Lewis Schaeffer, Jr., of Manassas. The medical examiner has not yet determined the cause and manner of Schaeffer's death but police say at this time there is no reason to suspect a "criminal act."
