ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WUSA) -- Governor Martin O'Malley is holding a fundraiser in support of same-sex marriages.

Raven linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo is joining the governor in supporting same-sex marriages in Maryland, the O'Malley stated in an email. 

"We're lucky to have athletes like Brendon who serve as role models fighting for fairness and equality for everyone under the law. I stand with Brendon and the thousands of people fighting for Question 6 in Maryland," the email stated. 

O'Malley and Ayanbadejo will be hosting a Monday night football party on Oct. 8 in Baltimore to raise money for the ballot question. Ten donors will be chosen to attend the event with a guest.
