(WUSA) -- One person has died after an accident on Interstate 95 in Fairfax County on Thursday morning.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Virginia State Police responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash at the 163 mile marker in the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Fairfax County. 

A tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle collided and one person died, say police.

Two southbound lanes are closed.
