ANNAPOLIS (WUSA) -- A man has been arrested for reportedly claiming to be an undercover detective with the Anne Arundel County Police Department, say police.
According to county police, 31-year-old Mark Eugene Elmer of Odenton, Md. is accused of driving up to a man and woman in the parking lot of a Buffalo Wild Wings in the 2300 block of Forest Drive on Tuesday night, showing a bade and claiming to be an undercover detective with the Anne Arundel County Police Department.
According to witnesses, Elmer demanded that the pair show him identification and had one of the people perform field sobriety tests.
Elmer is also accused of saying he was a detective to two men in the parking lot and asking for their identification. The men drove away and called police.
Officers found Elmer inside of a Ford Explorer. He was arrested and charged after an investigation.
