CHEVY CHASE, Md. (WUSA) -- The sole survivor and passenger in a Chevy Chase fiery crash on March 23, 2012, is suing the people who helped save his life.
18-year-old Reeco Richardson was a passenger in a stolen car with three others ages 14-16 years old.
Richardson and his attorneys held a press conference Thursday afternoon announcing the 10 million dollar civil lawsuit against the Montgomery County Police Department, the officers involved in following the car, Chevy Chase, and its police chief.
Richardson's lawyers say the details of the crash nearly two months ago differ from what police say happened. They say the officers were negligent and purposely rammed their police cruiser into the stolen car.
Montgomery County police say officers did not touch the car and the driver crashed into a tree at Chevy Chase Circle and burst into flames.
