WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA) -- Prince William County Public Schools has confirmed that Kilby Elementary School Principal Jenny Bermant has been placed on administrative leave.
On its website, schools system officials say that Bermant was placed on leave after an investigation by the school division's internal auditor and risk management and security personnel.
"The results of the investigation were turned over to the Prince William County Police Department. Being a personnel and police matter, further details of the investigation cannot be released at this time," read the school system's statement on the website.
Retired principal Amy Jordan will return and "provide a smooth transition in leadership at the school..." say officials.
