WASHINGTON, D.C. (WUSA) - A man who lost his balance and fell off the platform at a Red Line Metro station was helped to safety by several bystanders, a Metro spokesman reports.
The 70-year-old man standing near the edge of the platform at Farragut North station lost his balance and tumbled onto the track bed below at about 1:30 Friday afternoon. Metro customers nearby quickly moved to pull him from the tracks and back to the platform.
The man was taken to GW hospital for evealuation of his non-life threatening injuries.
No train delays resulted from the incident.
