OCTOBER 3, 2011 (WUSA) -- October 3rd was the 18th Anniversary of Buddy Check 9 at 9NEWS NOW, a fact worth celebrating. 

Monday, we profiled the very first "Buddy", Jacqueline Brown Woody.

Jacqueline works for the Prince George's County Executive's office, but she's also an advocate working with a Komen Grant to raise awareness in the county & parts of Washington, D.C. 

Prince George's County has a high rate of breast cancer compared to the rest of state of Maryland.
