WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- A federal grand jury is reportedly now looking into unsubstantiated allegations by Sulaimon Brown against the Vincent Gray campaign.
Brown claims he was paid cash and promised a job by the Gray campaign in return for criticizing incumbent Mayor Adrian Fenty during the Democratic primary last September.
A former prosecutor familiar with DC grand juries says the main targets of the probe are usually not summoned before the panel.
In February, Brown was fired after three weeks on the job for alleged incompetence.
Earlier this month, Brown testified before the DC Council presenting copies of money orders, he claims, from Gray's workers.
Brown accusations are also being investigated by Congress.
