WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- The operators of the new Maaco Auto Body and Paint shop on Bladensburg Road in Northeast want to be good neighbors to 5th District Police officers who work across the street.

But they draw the line when it comes to cops parking their private vehicles on the Maaco lot everyday, blocking the driveway so customers and employees can't get to the business.

Maaco manager Marcus Woods has been taking pictures for the past month.

He got a ticket and was threatened with arrest on Friday when he parked his private car at the entrance to the 5th District parking lot in protest.

Woods says all the free spaces on the Maaco lot had been taken by police officers.

9NEWS NOW placed a call to the 5th District Commander, but has not yet received a response.
