WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA) -- Police say a relative shot a 12-year-old girl with a pellet gun on Thursday and she is in critical condition.
Prince William County police say on Dec. 23 shortly before 10:40 p.m., they responded to the 12900 block of Ketterman Dr in Woodbridge for a shooting.
They found the girl shot in the chest. She was taken by ground to an area hospital then air-lifted to a trauma center where she remains in critical condition.
A 17-year-old boy, a relative of the girl, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated malicious wounding. He is being held at a juvenile detention center.
