SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA) -- Southbound Route 29 was back open by 2:55pm as police investigated the crash of a Metro bus in the back of a box truck.
The truck driver suffered non-life threatening injuries. The bus driver said he was not hurt at all. The truck flew across the median through the south bound lanes and up onto a big hill on the front yard of 10208 Colesville Road.
Neighbors say they heard a loud crash and checked to make sure their kids were ok. The bus is still stuck on the hill, and Metro is trying to get a tow truck to remove the vehicle.
The Metro bus driver was charged with failure to control the vehicle's speed to avoid a collision.
