WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- Some Pepco customers may have a hard time finding relief from the sweltering heat thanks to power outages in the area Tuesday morning.
Bob Hainey, spokesperson for Pepco, says workers have located approximately 300 feet of bad secondary cable located underground in the 700 block of 12th Street in Northeast. Hainey says Pepco crews are pulling out the cable now and plan to install new cable in order to restore power to residential customers by noon.
Pepco says there are about 200 customers having power problems.
Hainey says some residents are without power entirely, while others have limited service. Some residents in the area are completely unaffected.
Hainey says less than 1000 customers are without power in the city.
