Police: Woman attacked while walking home in Va.

STERLING, VA - Police are searching for a suspect after a woman says she was attacked Thursday afternoon in Sterling, Va.

The assault happened around 1:30 p.m. at Alberta Terrace and Edwards Terrace while the victim was walking home.

According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, the victim said an unknown male started following her and attempted to talk to her. Police said the male suspect walked in front of the victim and pushed her to the ground. A struggle ensued and the victim punched the suspect. The victim was able to flee and returned home before contacting authorities.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned, possibly Hispanic male, and was wearing a dark shirt and pants.

The victim was not physically injured during the assault.
