STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- Authorities say a man stabbed an acquaintance and robbed another after they tried to help him in a field in Sterling.
Police say the incident happened on Friday at 5:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Enterprise St. According to police, three friends saw an acquaintance, 21-year-old Tanade A. Warsame of Sterling, who appeared to be sleeping in a field. They went to help him, say police, but "he became aggressive and brandished a knife."
Warsame then stabbed one of the men, say police. The group took off but were followed by Warsame who grabbed a female acquaintance's purse. A fight broke out between Warsame and the group as officers arrived at the scene, according to police.
A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at a hospital, say police.
Police tell us Warsame was charged with robbery, malicious wounding and two counts of assault and battery. He remains held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
