Jogger assaulted on W&OD trail in Va.

STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- A jogger was assaulted on the W&OD Trail Monday morning, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Officials say a woman was jogging on the trail when she was knocked to the ground from behind and assaulted near Oak Grove Road. It happened around 7:10.

The woman, assisted by a citizen, made the 911 call herself.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5'6", with short black hair, muscular build, and weighing around 200 lbs. The suspect was wearing dark colored clothing and fled the scene by foot on the trail towards Fairfax, heading East, officials say.
