Driver charged in Rt. 7 crash that brought down lines

STERLING, Va. (WUSA9) -- Loudoun County authorities say a Middleburg woman has been charged after a crash that brought down utility lines on Monday.

Route 7 was closed in both directions after the driver of a Mini Cooper lost control in the area of Route 7 and southbound exit for Route 28, say authorities. The Mini Cooper hit a box truck, the truck went off the road and hit a utility pole.

Authorities tell us that neither driver was injured but the driver of the Mini Cooper was charged with reckless driving. She has been identified as 22-year-old Kathryn Freeman of Middleburg.

The road was closed for nearly seven hours while repairs were completed on the downed lines.
