Md. woman dies of blunt force trauma in domestic-related homicide, police say

SILVER SPRING, MD. (WUSA9) - UPDATE: Police said on Thursday that a Silver Spring woman who was murdered in a domestic-related incident died of blunt force trauma and asphyxia. 

Montgomery County police responded to a call at 6:48 a.m. on Tuesday, November 7 by Anthony Miguel Strong, 50, who said he killed his girlfriend, 43-year-old Chaunya Michalyn Blackwell. Police found Blackwell’s body inside the Bradbury Manor Court Home. 

Strong has been charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held without bond.

ORIGINAL STORY: A male is in custody after a possible domestic homicide in Silver Spring Tuesday morning, Montgomery County police said. 

Authorities responded to the 1100 Bradbury Manor Court around 6:50 a.m. When officials arrived to the home, they found a dead woman. 

Police said both the suspect and victim lived at the home. 

No additional information has been released at this time.
