Rockville, Md. hosts 'Movies in the Parks' this summer

ROCKVILLE, MD. (WUSA9) - Parks and popcorn are the perfect salty combination this summer.

Rockville’s free outdoor “Movies in the Parks” returns to the big screen in neighborhood parks throughout the city on Wednesdays in August.

Families can bring their own chairs, blankets, food and beverages and enjoy family-friendly movies at four different neighborhood parks. Movies begin at dusk, usually around 8 p.m. and are free.

The 2017 schedule is:

  • Wednesday, Aug. 2 - "Toy Story" (Rated G) at Montrose Park, 451 Congressional Lane
  • Wednesday, Aug. 9  - "Sing" (PG) at Fallsgrove Park, 700 Fallsgrove Drive.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 16 - "The Sandlot" at Woodley Gardens Park, 900 Nelson St.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 23 - "Zootopia" (PG) at Calvin Park, 1248 Gladstone Drive.
