Prince George's Co. neighborhood 'safe' after barricade situation

Hours long barricade situation ends

UPPER MARLORO, MD (WUSA9) - Prince George's County police essentially lock down a neighborhood for hours Wednesday as they searched for suspect.

Police shut down roads and kept people from going back into their homes. A long line of people flooded back in their homes Wednesday night. 

A five hour long barricade situation in an upper Marlboro neighborhood began with a call of a breaking and entering in a home on Westphalia Road.

But after a long wait, once their finally went home, police say their neighborhood will be safe again.

Police have detained a person of interest but they are not saying whether this is the suspect they were originally looking for.

No charges have been filed at this time.
