Man arrested for videotaping and exposing himself in Reston

RESTON, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man was arrested after police say he videotaped and exposed himself to a woman in Reston on Aug. 5th.

Michael Wayne Edwards, 33, of Centreville was arrested and charged on Aug. 6th, police said.

The incident happened around 1:15 p.m. when police say a woman was shopping at the Safeway on South Lakes Drive. The woman reported to police that Edwards was following her around the store.

After the woman left the store, she reported to police that Edwards followed her to a location near Sunrise Valley Drive and Lakespray Way. Police say Edwards appeared to be videotaping her and called out to her.

The woman told police that she recognized Edwards as the man who had been following her in the store. Edwards then exposed himself and ran away. Police say no injuries were reported.

Edwards was charged with taking unlawful images of another without consent, simulated masturbation and indecent exposure, police said.
