Frederick man arrested for shooting in Spring Ridge

SPRING RIDGE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Frederick County Sheriff's Office authorities have a suspect in the shooting of an 18-year-old man on Spring Ridge Parkway near I- 70 on Saturday.

At approximately 1:00 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to the area of Flagstone Court in Spring Ridge for a shooting and found an 18-year-old male from Frederick with a wound to his lower torso. He was transported to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he was treated and released.

Authorities say deputies identified 19-year-old Justyn Robinson – Clipper of Frederick as the suspect that same day. He was arrested and transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center's Central Booking Unit. He was charged with first- and second-degree assault as well as reckless endangerment, say authorities.

According to authorities, the victim and Robinson knew each other.

Authorities tell us that information indicates Robinson used a pellet/BB gun but that investigators are still working to confirm the type of weapon used in the shooting.
