Police: 3 teens rape 11 and 12-year-old girls in Va.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Three teenage boys raped two young girls in Woodbridge, Va. on Monday night, police said.

It happened on the 1800 block of Gableridge Turn around 10:28 a.m., police said.

"The investigation revealed that the two victims, a 12 year old girl and an 11 year old girl – both of Woodbridge, were both sexually assaulted by three juvenile males. The victims and suspects were known to one another. Following the investigation, the juveniles were identified and charged on July 28th," police said in a news release.

Two 17-year-old boys and one 16-year-old boy were arrested and charged. One of the 17-year-old boys was charged with Rape and Forcible Sodomy, the other was charged with just Forcible Sodomy. The 16-year-old was charged with Rape and Forcible Sodomy as well.

The two boys charged with Rape are being held in a juvenile facility, police said. The other boy was released to his parents.

Their court dates are pending.
