Man arrested for rape after breaking into woman's apartment

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA9) -- Prince William County police say a man has been arrested for raping a woman after breaking into her apartment at night.

Thirty-two-year-old Prince Perkins was arrested on June 18 and charged with rape, forcible sodomy, aggravated sexual battery, burglary with intent to commit a felony, abduction with intent to defile while armed, and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Police say he is responsible for the May 28 rape of a woman in the 13700 block of Keelingwood Circle in Woodbridge, Va. Perkins is alleged to have broken into the woman's apartment and raped her at gunpoint.

Police say the victim's two children were home at the time of the incident and were unharmed.
