Police officer pleads guilty to off-duty domestic-related incident

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (WUSA9) -- An off duty Prince George's County Police officer pleaded guilty to second degree assault on Monday, officials said.

PFC Dwight Jones is under investigation after an off-duty domestic-related incident which happened on November 30, 2013. Jones has worked for the department for nine years. He is assigned to the Telephone Reporting Unit but his police powers have been suspended and Jones is on administrative duty, police said.

The Police Chief Mark Magaw said in a press release, "Our officers are held to the highest standard, whether they are on or off duty. Any behavior that betrays the trust of our community will not be tolerated and is not acceptable."
