Police find loaded gun inside car during traffic stop

OXON HILL, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man was arrested during a traffic stop after Police found a gun in his car.

A patrol officer was conducting a traffic stop on Wheeler Road. When he walked up to Kenneth Hopkins car, he could smell the odor of suspected marijuana. A search of the car led to officers finding a loaded gun sticking out from the bottom of the backseat.

25-year-old Hopkins was arrested, police said.
