Police asks for tips in Woodbridge murder of family man

A murder in broad daylight at an apartment complex in Woodbridge has police in Prince William County asking for the public's help.

WOODBRIDGE, VA (WUSA9) - A murder in broad daylight at an apartment complex in Woodbridge has police in Prince William County asking for the public's help.

Police say the victim was a "family man" who did not know the two suspects.

Jose Moises Garcia Flores, 40, was gunned down as he walked toward his apartment building at the Bayvue apartment complex in the 1400 block of Bayside Avenue.

They believe it was a possible random robbery, though Garcia Flores's widow says nothing was taken. Not his cell phone, wallet or money.

"He is very friendly and doesn't have any enemies," said Teresa Arias, Garcia Flores's widow.

The two were married in June after being together for several years and immigrating from Honduras. Moises, says says, was a father figure to her boys. The two are both from Honduras and came to America for a better life. She works doing laundry and Moises was a painted, she said.

On Saturday, Moises had just visited Teresa at work and was heading home when he was approached by two suspects and shot.  It happened just before 6 p.m.

"It freaked us out it was so scary," said Maria, a high school student.

Several residents told WUSA9 that they heard two gunshots and looked out  to see a man on the ground bleeding from his head. They also saw two suspects with their faces obscured running away.
