Police arrest 2 for Alexandria copper thefts

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Alexandria police have arrested two suspects in connection with a series of copper thefts that occurred during April and May.

William Bauckman, 39, of Fairfax was arrested on May 9 and charged with six counts of Grand Larceny after crime analysts were able to link him to one copper theft and connect him to the others.

Sean Griffin, 31 of Fairfax was arrested on June 9 and charged with Grand Larceny and Grand Larceny with Intent to Sell.

Police remind citizens that it is very easy for thieves to access and steal copper gutters, and that any suspicious behavior around gutters or roofs should be reported.
