Pills seized from car that fatally hit baby in stroller

LANSDOWNE, VA (WUSA9) - Pills were seized from the car involved in the crosswalk pedestrian crash that killed a baby in a stroller and injured the child's mother, according to Loudoun County police.

The pills were seized from the Jeep that John Miller, 45, was driving after a search warrant was issued. Police say Miller was looking at his phone during the crash.

WUSA9's Peggy Fox reported that the baby's mother was released from the hospital Tuesday after being seriously injured last Wednesday.

The mother and 5-month-old baby were crossing Riverside Parkway at Coton Manor Drive heading to Kipheart Drive just after 8 a.m. They were past the median in the middle of the four-lane road in a well-marked cross walk when they were hit.  A Jeep Grand Cherokee, traveling in same direction made a left turn and hit them.

Miller has not been charged at this time.
