Over 20 residents displaced; 6 apartments damaged after fire in Md.

GERMANTOWN, Md. (WUSA) -- Over 20 people were displaced and six apartments damaged in a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex in Germantown, Maryland.

Six apartments were damaged after a fire started at a three-story garden style apartment complex located on Pickering Court. Over 20 residents were displaced, police said.

One dog is reported to have died in the fire. A firefighter also sustained minor injuries and has since been treated and released, officials said.

Current damage estimates are $250,000 to the structure and $50,000 to contents, officials said.

75 firefighters helped put out the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
