Little girl found in DC identified by a loved one

The little girl who was found wandering in NW DC was identified by family on Thursday.

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - The little girl has been identified by a parent or guardian, D.C. police said Thursday afternoon.

Police did not release any more details.

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a little girl that was found in Northwest D.C. Wednesday night, police said.

According to police, a 2 to 5-year-old girl was found in the 2900 block of 14th Street around 10:17 p.m.

Police describe the child as a Hispanic female, with brown hair and brown eyes. She speaks primarily Spanish. When found she was wearing black pants, a white tank top and blue sandals.

Anyone who has information about the identity of this girl or the whereabouts of any relatives is asked to contact the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099, the Youth and Family Services Division at 202-576-6768, or 911.
