One dead after Metrobus, car collide

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) - One person is dead after a Metro bus and a car collided on Wednesday night in Southeast, police said.

The crash occurred around 10 p.m. on Suitland Parkway near Stanton Road Southeast.

Police said a car was traveling at high speeds when it ran a red light and hit a Route 94 Metro bus.

Two people were inside of the car at the time, one of whom was pronounced dead at the scene. The other, an adult male, was transported to an area hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.

Two passengers from the bus were taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
