WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- Police responded to a call of a number of dead chickens, roosters and a goat found at Rock Creek Park.
The call came in around 3:00 p.m. When Police arrived at the area of Rock Creek Park near 3519 17th Street N.W., they found a number of dead animals on a make-shift trail nearby. The animals included a number of chickens, roosters and one pigmy goat that were killed in a way which resembled some form of a ritualistic killing. All of the animals had their throats cut, police said.
Officials believe the animals could have been killed someplace else and dumped at the location where they were discovered by a passerby.
The U.S. Park Police is investigating this incident.
