National Weatherperson's Day

WASHINGTON (WUSA9) -- February 5 is National Weatherperson's Day, which recognizes people in the fields of meteorology, weather forecasting and broadcast meteorology.

National Weatherperson's Day is on John Jeffries' birthday. Jeffries is considered to be one of the first weather observers in the United States who took measurements in 1774.

We want to take the day to say THANK YOU to our weather team, Topper Shutt, Howard Bernstein and Erica Grow!
