Montgomery County snow emergency lifted

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md (WUSA9) -- County Executive Ike Leggett announced Friday that the snow emergency in Montgomery County will be lifted by 5 p.m.

Authorities said, the on street parking restrictions for the snow emergency routes will no longer be in effect. In addition, taxicabs will not be able to charge the additional $2.50 per trip in the county.

Free parking in county-owned parking lots and garages only, in Bethesda, Silver Spring, Wheaton and Montgomery Hills, will continue through the end of Friday, authorities said.
