Md. man arrested for arson at towing business

GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man was arrested Monday in connection with an arson fire at Ed's towing located in the 300 block of Marley Neck Road in Glen Burnie.

Police received calls around 11 a.m. about a car fire at the business. Police said, firefighters found a late model Saturn well involved in fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire quickly. The fire caused a total of $3,000 in damage to a total of four cars, according to the Anne Arundel Fire Department.

Investigators were able to determine that they were dealing with arson and arrested 29-year-old Steven Latz, an employee of Ed's Towing, the fire department said.

Latz has been charged with second degree arson, malicious burning, destruction of property and reckless endangerment.
