FULTON, Md. (WUSA9) -- A 52-year-old swim coach was arrested for sex offenses and child abuse.
Police say Christopher Thomas Huott, of the 8100 block of Westside Boulevard in Fulton, Md., was arrested Thursday morning. Huott is the founder and owner of the Maryland Suburban Swim Club in Laurel.
In March, police say they were contacted by a female victim who disclosed that Huott engaged her in sex acts on numerous occasions while she was a minor in her care. Huott was the victim's swim coach when these incidents occurred.
Huott is charged with three counts of committing a third degree sex offense, one count of committing a second degree sex offense, and one count of child abuse, police say. He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
Due to Huott's position with the Maryland Suburban Swim Club and his access to children, detectives are concerned that there may be additional victims of Huott. Anyone with additional information about this incident or anyone who feels that he/she was victimized by Huott is asked to contact the Family Crimes Division at 240-773-5400.
