A black Toyota Camry was traveling the wrong way on the outerloop of the Beltway between Central Avenue and Arena Drive when it caused a violent, head-on collision with a Ford F-150 Xfinity work truck around 9:15 p.m.
The driver of the Camry, 36-year-old Nicholas O’Neil Clark, was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the Xfinity truck, 46-year-old Jason Allen Brown, was taken to Shock Trauma in critical condition.
A Maryland State Police crash reconstruction team responded to the scene to investigate the incident, causing the outerloop to remain closed for hours. Maryland State Police reopened the roadway shortly after a.m, according to Maryland State Highway Administration tweets.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
