Victim of fatal Md. crash ID'd

WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- Police have identified the victim of a fatal crash that happened Wednesday night in Brentwood, Md.

Prince George's County Police Department said the victim has been identified as 54-year-old James Kevin Green, of the 1200 block of Missouri Avenue in Northwest Washington.

Deputies were called to the crash scene around 11 p.m. at the intersection of 38th Street and Rhode Island Avenue for the report of a single car crash.

Green was taken to the hospital, where he died later, authorities said.

The investigation shows Green was heading westbound on 38th Street approaching Rhode Island Avenue when his car left the road and hit a pole. Authorities said, reasons as to why the car left the road are still not clear, however speed does seem to be a factor.
