Victim hit with gun during Md. home invasion

LEONARDTOWN, Md. (WUSA9) -- St. Mary's County authorities are looking for two men who entered a home and assaulted a victim before fleeing with cash and property on Tuesday night.

According to authorities, sheriff's deputies responded to a home in the 41000 block of Norris Court in Leonardtown at approximately 6:00 p.m. for the report of a home invasion. They determined that two African American men in all black clothing and armed with handguns entered the home through an unlocked front door and ordered the occupants to the floor.

Authorities say the men then stole cash and property. One victim received a small laceration to the head after being struck with a handgun, according to authorities.

The men then ran out of the home.

Tipsters can also text their tips in to "TIP239" plus your message to "CRIMES" (274637). If the information leads to the arrest and conviction, the caller/tipster may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
