UPDATE: Driver who fled fatal crash turns himself in

BRANDYWINE, Md. (WUSA 9) -- The man wanted for fleeing the scene of a fatal crash has turned himself in, authorities say.

23-year-old Bryant Christopher Lewis of Clinton turned himself in to the Department of Corrections, police announced July 31st.

Police had obtained a warrant for Lewis after investigators learned that Lewis had been behind the wheel during a fatal crash in Brandywine.

Police say 23-year old Brendan Munnerlyn of Waldorf was killed during the crash. According to police the other passenger was critically injured when Lewis lost control of the car and crashed into a utility pole on McKendree Road.
