Suspect wanted in Md. armed robbery and sexual assault

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (WUSA9) -- Hyattsville City Police responded to the report of an armed robbery and sexual assault in the 3500 East West Highway.

Police said the incident happened around 2:07 a.m. when a woman was walking home from the Prince George's Plaza Metro Station. The victim was approached from behind by the suspect. Authorities said he held a knife towards her and told her to go behind a dumpster.

The man demanded her property and then sexually assaulted her. Police said he fled towards the Prince George's Plaza Metro Station.

The suspect is being described as a dark skinned black man between the ages of 20 and 30. He has shoulder length dread and is possibly balding on top.

At the time of the incident, police said he was wearing an orange and black "snap back" hat, an orange shirt and blue jeans.
