MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WUSA9) -- Montgomery County Police are looking for a suspect who inappropriately touched a 10-year-old girl when she was walking to school on Thursday in Takoma Park.
Police said the incident happened around 7:40 a.m. in the area of Barron Street and Bayfield Street when the girl was walking to Rolling Terrace Elementary School.
According to authorities, the suspect approached the victim from behind. The man touched the girl inappropriately and then took his hands off of her when she turned around to face him, police said.
Authorities said the suspect is being described as a Hispanic man and is about 5 feet to 5 feet 2 inches tall. He is in his late thirties to early forties.
The man was wearing a black sweatshirt, black baseball hat, saggy,light blue jeans and black shoes at the time of the incident, police said.
He was carrying a dark green and light gray backpack on his shoulders. Police said he smelled like cigarettes.
According to authorities, the victim thinks she saw the man the day before in the area of Flower Avenue and Domer Avenue and alson on the Domer Avenue footbridge. He was wearing the same clothing both days, police said.
