GLENARDEN, Md. (WUSA9) -- Prince George's County police and Glenarden police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal stabbing that happened Saturday night.
Thirty-seven-year-old Jahwil Sheard of the 8800 block of Sterling Street in Landover is charged with first degree murder for the death of 26-year-old Terrell Maurice Burton of D.C.
Police say deputies responded to the report of a stabbing around 8:55 p.m. to the 7900 block of Johnson Avenue. According to authorities, they found a man suffering from several stab wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died.
When deputies arrived, they spotted a man, later identified as Sheard, who matched the suspect's description running from the area. They immediately stopped him, according to police. A knife was also recovered nearby.
Police say preliminary investigation suggests Sheard stabbed Burton during an argument. He's in custody of the Department of Corrections on a no bond status.
