Registered sex offender charged with rape of 12-year-old boy

A 63-year-old Silver Spring man is accused of raping a 12-year�-old Frederick boy he met online. Police said he'd done it before, and they fear there may be more victims out there.

FREDERICK, MD. (WUSA9) - A registered sex offender is being charged with rape after police said he picked up a 12-year-old victim from his house and then sexually assaulted him in Silver Spring, Maryland on Dec. 11. 

Police learned the suspect, Ramon Manuel De Los Reyes, contacted the victim on social media and then came to Frederick, Maryland to pick him up. 

De Los Reyes drove to Silver Spring where he allegedly sexually assaulted the victim then took him back home.

Following the alleged assault, Frederick Police responded to the victim's home. He was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. 

On Dec. 14 police served a search and seizure warrant at the location where the victim was allegedly assaulted.

De Los Reyes was taken into custody and to a local medical facility for medical evaluation. 

He is currently being held at Frederick County Detention Center without bond. He is being charged with sexual solicitation of a minor, third degree sex offense and second degree rape.
