PRINCE GEORGE'S CO, MD (WUSA9) - A volunteer fire chief faces 22 traffic charges for allegedly trying to run from officers not once, but twice on Tuesday morning.

Matthew Reginald Fowler, 49, is Volunteer Chief of the Silver Hill Fire Department in Prince George's County.

The Charles County Sheriff's Office says this all started with a report of a man threatening to slash the tires on his girlfriend's car.

When officers arrived, the suspect drove off. Police say the chase ended at the county line.

About an hour later, officers spotted the suspect back in the area and caught him this time.

Officers say Fowler was driving a fire department pick-up truck.
