Police: Man attempts to ride home after motorcycle crash, dies

MT. AIRY, MD. (WUSA9) - Police are investigating after a 47-year-old man who was involved in a motorcycle crash tried to ride home, however died on his way there. 

Howard County police responded to the 1400 block of Long Corner Road for the report of a dead man who was found outside of a residence Sunday morning. 

The investigation showed that James Edward Clements, 47, of Mt. Airy was involved in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash sometime Saturday night in the 18600 block of Penn Shop Road. This location is about 1.2 miles from his home. 

Authorities believe Clements tried to ride home after the crash but never made it back due to his injuries. His cell phone and helmet visor were found at the scene of the crash. 

The investigation is ongoing.
